And so it begins...

Sigh...how do you discipline a ten month old? Davin is really starting to be a little stinker! He has been crawling for a couple months now but only recently has started getting in to stuff. His new favorite thing is to pull my books off our bookshelf in the living room. Now it's true that I could just put the books on a higher shelf and put his stuff on the bottom, but I really just want to teach him to leave it alone. Easier said than done. He definitely understands the meaning of the word "no" but the problem is that when we say it he thinks whatever he's doing has just become a game. After I say no he will smile and giggle and tease me by veeerrryyy sloooooowly getting closer and closer to the books until I do something about it. The worst part is that I'm just trying to consistently tell him no and act stern about it, but I'm secretly trying really hard not to laugh. He's so funny. Just today he has decided that he likes to stand up on his own without holding on to anything. He's done it occasionally in the past, but not consistently. The best part is that he gets excited and starts doing a little dance that involves shaking his little bum. For posterity sake here are some more davnisms...
  • He's just started making a little pouty face by sticking his lips out really far and scrunching his nose.
  • He says the word ball (sounds more like baw) Ok, he doesn't really say it, he screams it! (really high pitched, it usually hurts my ears)
  • If we leave the bathroom door open for a second he is in there trying to play with the plunger...gross!
  • He now has 5 teeth (there my be a 6th trying to come in on top) and he has quite a large gap between his front two teeth. It's cute for now, but I'm already thinking of the braces...
  • He has some pretty bad stranger danger issues sometimes. We have to ease him in to situations with lots of people. He'll literally cling to us with a death grip.
That's all for now, I wouldn't want to bore you! You can brag about your kids to me anytime, it's only fair. :) Oh, and you can brag about your husbands too...speaking of which, Taylor got his 3rd interview request, this one is to Pacific University in Oregon which just so happens to be our top school choice! Yay!
