Crazies

I live with a bunch (ok, just 2) crazies! Crazy number one would be Taylor. This is the guy who can barely keep his eyes open past ten o' clock...normally... However, if staying up involves all night bass fishing at Sandhollow (who does that??) somehow he is miraculously able to not only keep his eyes opened, but function as a human being! Amazing. I'm not joking around folks. Last night Taylor and two of his buddies from work left around 7:30 and then didn't even come home afterwards, just went straight to work at 6 am. It's now about noon and I've talked to him a few times. Last time he said he felt like he was in a cloud...so he either really stayed up all night or is on drugs....hmmm... In case you were wondering, he said the fishing was awesome and they had a grand ol' time. He didn't say much about the fish he had caught, just about the one that actually snapped his line and got away. He is certain it was a monstrous fish (seeing as his line was supposed to withstand up to ten pounds) and is kicking himself that he couldn't get it in. Oh well, he'll just have to try again next time...or not...

Crazy number two is my sweet baby boy. In his case crazy=adorable. His personality is really starting to become evident and he has started to do all sorts of funny things. One of his favorite things to do is book surfing. Now, he LOVES books and will bring them over to me, clamber onto my lap and is totally absorbed while we're reading. But he is a creative kid and his other favorite thing to do with books is to put two books on the floor, stick one hand on each book and slide them all over the house...book surfing. The next thing he does has started just recently. When ever I say "UP!" he throws both his hands over his head and stretches them as high as he can and then drops them when i say "down." It's so funny to see his chubby little arms framing his little face with this giant grin and giggle. Sometimes he'll just randomly throw his arms up and then wait for me to follow suit and say "up." It's like he's testing me or something. He proved to be very observant the other day. I was singing twinkle twinkle little star in a goofy voice trying to get him to hold still during a diaper change (harder than you might think). When I sang the line "up above the world so high" he apparently recognized the word up because all of a sudden he tossed one little arm above his head (just one this time, he had a block in the other hand...) and looked pleased as punch. I love this little man. Oh yes, and he now officially claps!! Love this too. I haven't snapped a picture of the book surfing or his little arms in the air, but will keep the camera close today and will post them later. Thanks for letting me brag about how adorable my kid is.... (and how crazy my husband is) :)
